Workser Code organizes coding agents into thirteen specialist roles. A role defines a responsibility and its tools; the agent and model assigned to it do the work. Several roles can use the same agent, or you can mix supported agents across your team.

Test, launch & improve

A role being enabled does not mean it runs constantly. The work depends on the tasks assigned, the connected agents and the tools available. Local agents need the computer running.

Configure a role

Open Team in the project. Choose which roles participate and configure:
  • Primary agent and model, with reasoning effort where supported.
  • Optional backup agent and its model.
  • Instructions, skills and reference documents or files.
  • App connections, MCP tools and other supported tools.
Review the role’s capabilities before saving. Read-only checks depend on the role’s allowed tools and the underlying agent’s supported permission mode. A role name alone does not prove what its agent can access.

How work stays connected

Project channels, goals, tasks, documents, decisions and handovers carry context between roles. A teammate receives the relevant task and project context, not a copy of every other agent’s private reasoning or entire conversation. A useful handover states what changed, which files or services matter, what was checked, what failed and what still needs a decision. Check evidence and release approval remain separate from an agent saying it is done.

Run a configured role

A role run uses its saved configuration. A spawned agent is a temporary teammate. Delegate a bounded task with the references it needs; do not assume it can recover missing context from another agent’s conversation. External agents use their own provider limits. A role using the built-in Workser Code agent spends Workser credits for paid models. Plans and credits.
