A Workser Code project is not one app. It is a workspace that can hold several, and they share the project’s database, storage, connected apps and secrets — which is exactly what you want when your storefront and your admin tool are looking at the same orders.

Current creation options

Creation options depend on the current app catalog and desktop release. Background jobs, scheduled jobs, standalone AI Agent app types, data app flows and desktop app installers are not currently offered in the desktop creation picker. Existing records of those types do not establish that a new user can create or publish them through the current UI. You can use Automations for scheduled work and Agent Cloud to add hosted agents to your product. These are separate from a hidden app-type entry.

Preview the right result

Web and mobile apps have a visual preview. An API service or data app should be checked through its inputs, outputs and logs; a structured response is not a broken website. A preview alone does not confirm production deployment. Keep the service that owns your business records clear. A data app can process and transform information while your app’s backend applies its authorization and business rules. Do not assume every SDK capability runs directly in every app or client runtime.

Several apps, one project

The database belongs to the project, not to a single app. So does the storage bucket, so do the connected apps you authorised once, and so do the secrets. Adding the admin tool six weeks after the storefront does not mean wiring any of that up again.
Because the bucket is shared, keys should be namespaced — invoices/2026/… rather than files dumped at the root. Two apps writing logo.png to the same bucket are writing to the same object.

Publishing a mobile app is different

Web apps publish to an address. Phones do not work that way — an app has to get onto a device, and there is more than one way to do that. See Putting an app on a phone.
